The UFC Mobile App. Re-imagined.

Case Study: As a longtime fan of Mixed martial arts, this was a perfect opportunity to redesign the UFC app to cater to a larger audience and increase interest in the sport of Mixed martial arts. I believe the UFC's goals with the mobile app could be approached ... in a different way to better include average users as well as paying UFC Fight Pass subscribers (UFC's content streaming platform).

Current App Flaws: I noticed the current app lacks video content available for non-Fight Pass subscribers; however, some Fight Pass content is free on the UFC's YouTube channel. To entice users to purchase a Fight Pass subscription, I added free weekly videos from Fight Pass for all to enjoy (Same approach as the UFC with their YouTube channel, but now videos exclusive to the UFC app).

The app made me feel disconnected from the UFC fan/community so a feature I created is a UFC Map to show local events, UFC gyms and partnered bars that play UFC cards. The goal of this feature is to add an increased the sense of community by immersing MMA fans into the world of UFC. The last major additions were new fighter profile cards as well as a revamped video platform to watch free & Fight Pass videos, keeping users in the loop with their favorite fighters.
